Looking for Pollinators

Our second grade class thought we know everything about bees - but we found out even more today! Here are some newly learned facts that second graders learned:

  • Bees shiver!
  • Wasps are not bees!
  • Bees can carry twice their weight!
  • Bees figure out where they are by using their simple eye and the sun!
  • Male bees are called drones - they can't feed themselves!

After an informative and fun puppet show, we went into the field and look for pollinators. We searched near the new flowers appearing on our playground. To top it off, we enjoyed some homemade ice cream sweetened by honey!
