Owl pellets: gross or amazing? If you ask the 5th graders they would say emphatically... BOTH! While sifting through an owl's puke may seem pretty yucky to most, the 5th graders found some pretty amazing things. Many types of bones and lots of fur provided a valuable and exciting learning opportunity for us all. They found skulls from multiple types of rodents, differentiated between hip, legs, and scapulas, and made inferences about their owl's ecosystem.
