5th reading to 1st

It was a busy week at the Lyme School!

Teachers met to discuss research and inquiry across the grades on our Tuesday inservice day.   We took a look at all of the recent tech projects that showcased student research  in Grades 1-8 and found inspiration in what other grades have accomplished in both inquiry work and tech integration!

In another staff meeting on our inservice day, we analyzed student writing samples from across the grades to identify strengths and challenges  in student writing and our writing curriculum needs. Teachers also worked on learning the new Powerschool platform for report cards and had other small group meetings to check in with special ed teachers and interventionists.

The hiring committees were busy interviewing principal and superintendent candidates this week.  All of the candidates we have met so far have been impressed with the Lyme School and we are fortunate to have such a great pool to interview.

Reminders:

  • Please sign up for parent conferences.  Conferences are running all next week, March 14-18.
  • We have early dismissal at 1:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Thursday will be our regular 2:00 dismissal.
  • We plan to send out report cards on Monday, March 14.  If you do not receive one on Monday, bear with us as we work through using our new report card platform.  We will let you know if there is a delay in getting these out.
