Science and Seeds in Kindergarten

The Kindergarten goes outside for science on Friday afternoons and this past Friday was no exception; this time we had three moms volunteering and teaching a 4-Winds lesson.  It was all about seeds and how seeds are transported in the wild: by the wind and on animal fur as a couple of key examples!

The children enjoyed a puppet show and then were divided into three groups.  Each group was asked to find three different examples of seeds, which they did quite quickly and happily. They were also treated to touching and opening milkweed, cattails and even a sunflower.  At the very end, we came back inside and ate a seedy snack of strawberries, cucumbers and kiwi!
