K-2 Art: September 2019

This fall, K-2 students have been creating Art messy mats to use this year in the studio. Ks read a silly book about scribbling, 1s read a crazy book about creativity and rocket-powered unicorns, and 2s learned about the artist Henri Matisse. I took these first pieces of Art and laminated them. Most artwork is sent home at the end of the school year, as our routine is to collect ALL of the work that we do together and be able to look at a years’ progress.

The Art schedule is shared with the Design Lab this year, and we are still working out some of the finer points. K-2 goes to the Design Lab in the first cycle, and Art in the following cycle. The upshot is that we have Art 4 times in 2 cycles. If you have any questions, I hope you will not hesitate to get in touch. Families are ALWAYS welcome in the art studio. I hope to see many of you at our Open House on October 17th!
