3s started out the year creating Moth & Butterfly sculptures. We learned how to tell the difference between these two types of insects and even had the opportunity to study a real butterfly. 4s learned about radial symmetry and have been working to get the sculpture center up and running smoothly. This is one of our messiest centers, so we try to learn good habits. 5s are working on weaving a pouch with cardboard looms.
The Art schedule is shared with the Design Lab this year, and we are still working out some of the finer points. 3-5 goes to Art in the first cycle, and the Design Lab in the following cycle. The upshot is that we have Art 4 times in 2 cycles. If you have any questions, I hope you will not hesitate to get in touch. Families are ALWAYS welcome in the art studio.
