School Year

The school year shall be a minimum of 186 days, including a minimum of 180 instructional days for students and 6 additional days for the teaching staff.

Any days that school is closed for emergency reasons will be made up at the end of the school year or during recess periods, as approved by the Board upon the Superintendent’s recommendation. Under special circumstances the Board may request an exception to this requirement from the State Board of Education.
