About Me

I am very happy to be in my 16th year of teaching at the Lyme School; I taught Kindergarten for my first 7 years here, then 2nd Grade for 7 years and a year of 1st, and now I am excited to be back in K! I also taught in Kotzebue, Alaska many years ago. I received my Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of NH in 1994 after receiving my BA from UNH in Family Studies in 1992. When I am not at the Lyme School, I enjoy spending time with my family. We live in Orford, NH; my husband and I have a son, Liam (age 22) and a daughter, Shannon, (age 19). We especially love to travel together, as well as spend time outdoors, usually walking/hiking with our dogs.

ABOUT KINDERGARTEN

Helping children be their “kindest selves” in our community of learners is as important to me as teaching the alphabet and number sense. We make mistakes along the way, and that is okay, but working together and learning to communicate with words and positive body language is very important. Our program has recently gone to a full of Kindergarten which provides us with time to balance play and academics. Science units include life cycles, seed to plant, and investigating water.
