6th Graders: Penpals and teachers

The 6th graders began their penpal exchange with Lyme community members. The 6th graders wrote about themselves last week and yesterday received letters back. Their excitement to read the letters was like waiting to open a present. Each student shared something they learned about their penpal with the class.

In social studies, the students recently became the teachers. They were given a chapter to teach the class and had to write up a plan on how they would present the lesson. They also came up with a way to assess what their classmates learned.  After the lesson, the “teachers” filled out a reflection about how they felt it went, what they thought was successful, and what they would change.
